Grateful Dead, Shrine Exposition Hall "Amazing Electric Wonders" *Mint Condition*

The 5000  + seat Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles California was home to some of the most spectacular concerts of the late ‘60’s . The shows were organized and promoted by Pinnacle Productions and utilized state of the art light and sound technology. These Hollywood style concerts were headlined by some of the most memorable performers of the day.  Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Cream, The Who, all performed at the Shrine in 1968.

The posters for these concerts were a perfect pairing for the large scale and well-promoted events. Pinnacle The bulk of these posters were created by one of the founders of Pinnacle Productions, John Van Hamersveld, who was a successful commercial artist that was responsible for the iconic Endless Summer movie poster .  Van Hamersveld also created some of the era's most important album cover art including The Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" and The Rolling Stones' “Exile on Main Street".This is the first poster that the Van Hamersveld created for Pinnacle.

In November of 1967, Buffalo Springfield, The Grateful Dead and Blue Cheer performed at the Shrine Auditorium. This was the first event staged by Pinnacle Productions and was billed as “Amazing Electric Wonders.
