This poster was culled from the personal collection of artist Hugh Surratt.

Surratt was responsible for a series of posters that advertised concerts at Michigan State University in the early 1970’s.

In 1973 Miles was fully in the swings of his new electronic Sound. He had released “On The Corner” in 1972 with the vision of appealing to a younger mostly African-American audience. The album mixed a new funk sound with the traditional Jazz styles Miles had been playing for years.
